I have been really doing more with polymer clays then I ever have in the past! when I first began working with polymer clay, I was living in Hamilton, Montana ... oh gosh that was 1991! ack and I was sculpting lil' polymer clay roses and turning them into earrings. Oh gosh the art community in that town went nuts over 'em! I sold these earrings for $5 a pair, and sold everything I had created. Which was great because to make a living in Montana you really have to diversify yourself. Then, when I…

Sheesh ... I actually forgot I was a member of this community, until I got a comment alert! Life is progressing it seems, at the speed of light sometimes! But, here I am and boy have things changed for me! Last Fall during very high gas prices and seemingly difficult economic times, I made the decision to let go of my MRKJewelry web site and domain name . . . bad idea! No sooner did that transpire then, someone else snagged my domain name and turned it into a jewelry search engine!! of all thing…

After working intensely on the website for the past two weeks, and not quite as intensely over the past 4 months, Body Icing by Jennifer is now up and running. http://www.bodyicingbyjennifer.com
I am still working on fixing some of my META tags and a few of the links that I have found to not be working right. I changed the design just over the last two days. after finding the original design to not be overly friendly color-wise on the eyes when viewed on higher quality monitors with better vide…

Until I launch my new website, Body Icing by Jennifer. I added the link in already, though it is parked at the moment, but it will be live in the next few days! I am so excited.
The primary focus of my site will be the information. I will have everything from where to find free and pay jewelry tutorials, a reprint of the jewelry supply list with some updates, to business planning, marketing, and general jewelry business articles. I will have more personal articles about time management and othe…

Hello everyone. By way of introduction, my name is Pat and I'm very new to all of this. I appreciate your patience, as I often feel like I'm treading water with the lingo and logistics of it all. I've already met some of you on Etsy, one of the sites where I'm currently listing some of the creations that I consider good enough to sell.
The majority of my work consists of handmade crochet handbags, but I'm having fun with jewelry making, and will be adding more in time.…

Fashion accessories are decorative items that supplement one's garment, such as jewelry, gloves, handbags, hats, belts, scarves, watches, sunglasses, pins, stockings, bow tie, leg warmer, leggings, necktie, suspenders, and tights.
Fashion accessories are also play an important role in the jewelry family. Accessories add color, style and class to an outfit, and create a certain look, but they may also have practical functions. Handba…

I have had an active Etsy shop coming up on one year...well the word "active" is only descriptive of the shop being open for business...not the amount of business. Admittedly, I have not been an "active" shopkeeper. There are lots of excuses I can come up with to justify my inactivity, but I will not go on to list them. Shortly after opening my shop I joined one of the jewelry Street Teams on Etsy to help promote my shop. I volunteered to help the team with projects that just never materialized.…

I'm not usually given to public rants...but a recurring topic seems to be rearing it's ugly head within the jewelry making communities...some folks choose to call it "Plagiarism".
Initially, I would like to suggest that if anyone is afraid of someone being inspired by your jewelry designs and possibly replicating or using an element in a design of their own...don't post your work on public forum boards. Most forums are about sharing what you know, inspiring others to learn what you have to offe…
